Complex Trauma Therapy

We’re a therapy team with doctoral research focused on resilience after childhood trauma. We know how early experiences can shape your relationships, your reactions, and the patterns you keep repeating.
Do you understand what happened to you but can’t get past it?
Are you anxious, hypervigilant, or struggling to sleep?
Do you notice the same patterns showing up in your relationships even when you know you want something different?
Childhood trauma can affect the way you see yourself, relate to other people, and respond to stress. Some clients understand that an experience happened years ago, but still shut down during conflict and expect rejection even when a relationship is going well.
But what happened to you doesn't need to define your future.
Clients Come To Us When They’re
Hypervigilant
Anxious
Having trouble sleeping
Experiencing attachment issues
Shutting down in conflict
Scared to trust
Repeating relationship patterns
Feeling on guard
Avoiding difficult situations
You may be ready for complex trauma therapy if you’re experiencing:
Complex Trauma Therapy With Us
We want to understand your past, but we don’t need to know everything that happened. Our focus is on reducing the symptoms and relationship patterns that are affecting your life now, while helping you develop more effective ways to respond to stress.
We'll look at the story you've developed about yourself and what happened to you, then examine whether that story still fits the person you are today. We'll use what you tell us to identify the patterns affecting your relationships, work, and day-to-day reactions.
Our approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and focused on solutions.
We May Use:
-
Helps you examine the story you've built around your experiences and identify beliefs about yourself that may no longer fit.
-
Identifies what you want to change now and the behaviors or situations that can help you begin making that change.
-
Helps us consider how trauma affects your thoughts, reactions, relationships, and sense of safety so we can adjust the work accordingly.
-
Keeps your goals, experiences, and perspective central to treatment so the work addresses the problems you actually want to change.
We’re not interested in keeping you focused on what happened forever.
We don't need to spend every session talking about the past. We'll understand what happened, identify how it still affects you, and work on changing those patterns in your life now.
What Happened To You Doesn't Have To Define Your Future
We can't change what happened. But we can work on how you respond to conflict, stress, relationships, and reminders of the past today.
