We’re a mother and son therapy team, trained at the Council For Relationships, trained by Dr Sue Johnson’s group founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Institute and by Hedy Schleifer.
Are you having the same fight over and over?
Has intimacy disappeared?
Are you trying to rebuild after a breach of trust or infidelity?
Maybe you’re stuck, disconnected, or unsure whether your relationship can recover. Some clients come to us when outside stress affects their relationship, or they’ve reached a point where they’re asking, “can we keep going like this?”
The best time to start couples therapy is as soon as you’re thinking about it.
Clients Come To To Us When They’re:
Stuck in patterns
Losing intimacy
Repeating the same fight
Rebuilding after infidelity
Struggling with disconnection
At a breaking point
Dealing with outside stress
Blending families
Couples Therapy With Us
We start together in the first session, followed by one or two individual sessions with each person. From there, we create a roadmap for becoming more successful in your relationship.
We don’t just talk about the problem. We explore why you’re together in the first place. Whether you’re dealing with conflict, resentment, or disconnection, we’ll look at what’s keeping you locked in the same patterns and move step by step toward understanding and repair.
Therapy is one hour a week, and employ workbooks, videos, articles, and other resources to help you keep working between sessions.
Our Approach
We combine practical, evidence-based frameworks to help you understand what’s happening in your relationship and bring more clarity and calm to your relationship.
-
Helps you understand the emotional patterns underneath conflict and builds a stronger sense of connection and security.
-
Gives you practical tools for communication, conflict, and friendship to help you learn how to repair instead of staying stuck in the same fight.
-
Focuses on genuine connection and emotional understanding, so couples are seen and heard by each other.
-
Focuses how each person affects the relationship system and helps you understand patterns instead of blaming the other person.
-
Identifies what is already working and builds from there, so you move toward clear, practical changes.
-
Examines the stories you have built around yourselves and your relationship and helps you create a different way forward.
You Can Learn How To Move Past The Fight
When every disagreement turns into the same argument, it can be hard to see how to make a change. Conflict is inevitable. Learning how to repair, reconnect, and move forward together is what changes a relationship.
After Couples Therapy With Us
Successful couples don’t fight any less. They have the tools and language to repair.
After working with us, couples report:
Deeper connection
Knowing how to fight
Looking forward to the future
Operating as a team
Renewed intimacy
Easier decisions
Better repair skills
Provide you with a tool box to help yourselves
“You don’t have to stop every disagreement. The goal is to understand what happens between you and learn how to repair. We provided that tool kit.”
